PREPARATIONS FOR DEPARTURE
As we contemplate leaving for warmer climes, we are readying the boat for our adventure. Currently the tasks include:
- Replacing the MFD (we cannot get charts for our Raymarine C120W)
- Installing the support for the wind generator
- Installing the wind generator and charge controller
- Buying an EPIRB and MOB AIS units
- Buying a 6 person offshore life raft
- Re-rigging the boat. All the cordage is 10 years old and the PNW is not kind to that stuff. Will also check all standing rigging.

2019 ENDING
I have to apologize for not posting since May. It's been a bit crazy at work, and now I am catching up. SO what has happened since May? Well, I managed to purchase our new wind generator and will mount it in the next week or so. It is a MartineKinetix MK4+ 450 watt generator. Marine beam gives a discount to Island Packet owners.
MK4+ Wind Generator
We removed the the two Anemesco solar panels and have ordered two more. This will give us 360 watts of solar and 450 watts of wind. Here is the arch without the solar panels and awaiting the wind get mount.
I will catch up with the July 2019 sailing trip through the Gulf Islands and put those up soon.
