Sail Repair

Damned, I have to fix the Genoa.  It as two problems - first: the leech has torn at the edge for a short 10" section, second: there is a tear where the sail's boltrope  enters the furling foil.  So I have to take down the sail (and it's BIG), fix the tears and then rethread the sail into the foil as it's hoisted up by the halyard.

Here is a vid on the exact repair I have to make except it's not the mainsail.

Hayden Cochran aboard "Island Spirit" is in the Bahamas with a number of other Island Packet sailing families.  To be honest - I am envious and wish I was part of the fleet out there right now.  Here is a taste of the great time they are having from Hayden's photos on his site - (see Hayden's Blog link on the right side to catch the whole story)

University of Alberta

What a rush!!  I get to work on the redevelopment of this wonderful building at the University of Alberta.  It will involve some back and forth travelling between our wonderful home afloat and Edmonton, but this is such a great job!
