Cockpit Tables

So one other modification we want to make is to add a teak cockpit table that allows 4 people to have a meal outside.  we've been chatting with Mike at Cruising Concepts on Orcas Island in the San Juan's.  This is the likely solution:

The table is 28 inches long and folds out to 28 inches wide.  That should be PERFECT.

Windy Again

The winds are blowing 25 - 30 knots in the marina.  Tarps and light structures are failing all over the place. Terratima's GPS picks up the movement of the boat in direction and speed.

Spring Cleaning List

In anticipation of the coming of Spring and the rains abating, the list of things to do is getting longer:

  • Power wash the decks and hull
  • Tape, sand and apply 3 coats of Cetol to the teak toe rail and exterior trim
  • Lower Genoa on roller furler and repair leech and luff and re-hoist
  • Lower the staysail and check condition - repair if required and re-hoist
  • Install portvisors
  • Wax and polish hull below and above
  • Have a beer (or two)

Hayden Cochran's boat "Island Spirit" is seen often, here he and his wife are crewing aboard an Island Packet 40 sailing in 30 knot winds.  We are still experimenting with the sail plan for high winds on our IP465 - particularly with the furling mainsail.
