 We invested in a DJI Mini 2 to aid in recording our adventures.  Chris will do the flying.  This drone is one gram below the threshold for registration  here in Canada.

WEATHER AND ROUTING

We are being coached by Jamie and Behan Gifford of Totem.  They are a fantastic couple who completed a circumnavigation with their three children.  We look forward to their weather routing and advice as we head south.  Here is a still from our computer screen showing the routing and weather as it appears today.

FINAL PREPARATIONS COMPLETE - NOW WE PROVISION

 We have 2 additional crew members joining us which will make the night watches much easier.  Both are flying out from Calgary to join us in Sidney BC.  From there we will cross the Strait of Juan de Fuca and check into the USA in Port Angeles.

DEPARTURE DATE ESTABLISHED

 We are changing the name of the blog slightly.  We no longer will be just living aboard in the pacific northwest, but we will be actively cruising - beginning with a trip down the west coast of our friends to the south and then into Mexico.  So we will be come active cruisers after preparing for so long.  Departure is set for August 14th.  Stay tuned....
