Cortez Island

From Comox we sailed in high winds across the Strait of Georgia and up toward Cortez Island to a little bay called Gorge Harbour.

Too little wind to sail

Finally...more sailboats than powerboats

Comox

We crossed Comox Bar and entered Fisherman's Wharf.  Part of the commercial fleet is here.  We met another Island Packet owner from "Songline".

To Pender Harbour

From Salt Spring we anchored in Clam Bay which we posted earlier.  We then went on to Nanaimo where we made some repairs to the windlass which was acting up on us at Clam Bay.  The next stop was Pender Harbour and the sailing was magnificent with strong winds most of the way.

The Cruise Thus Far...(3)

In Victoria we were moored on the Causeway Floats and they were full of boats preparing for the Vic-Maui race.  I didn't know there WAS a Vic-Maui race but here is the link.

Chris took it all in stride and we enjoyed the view of people climbing masts and divers cleaning the bottoms of the boats.  "Kinetic" pictured above is one of the current leaders.

The Cruise This Far....(2)

Here we are with a new teak cockpit table added at Orcas Island.  It was made by Mike Powell of Cruising Concepts and it is superb.

COMPLETE THE STORY

Hello all.  I must admit to being a bit reticente in completing the story of our trip to Mexico.  It is marred by an incident of mental hea...
